Boarding Services

Large or small, your pet has a home in Hope’s large boarding facility while you are away.

Boarding Services

The boarding facility at Hope Animal Clinic is one of the largest in central Alabama. With 84 runs; 107 small, medium, and large cages; 18 private suites; and 28 cat condos in our climate-controlled facility, we offer a comfortable, safe place for your pet to stay while you are away. We feed only high quality Purina EN dog food and Hill’s Science Diet cat food and provide fresh water. If your pet prefers or requires its own food while staying with us, we gladly feed food brought from your home. Whether your pet is young and healthy or older with medical concerns, our dedicated staff is trained to provide the care your pet needs.

Most large dogs board in our runs where they rest on vented decks, keeping them off the floors. For smaller dogs, a clean folded towel lines their cage for greater comfort. Our suites also include a fold-down bed and a private television. Our canine guests are walked twice daily except for those boarding in our private suites; these dogs are walked three times a day. All dogs are released into walk areas.  We have found that releasing dogs as opposed to leash walking them encourages urination and thereby reduces the risk of urinary tract infections.

Our canine boarding rates include a 1/2 priced bath with 3 days boarding or a free bath with 5 days boarding when staying in a run or cage. When staying in a Suite, a bath is free after boarding 3 days. Canine boarders may also request doggy daycare play time for an extra fee during their stay.

Our feline guests enjoy a quiet stay in our cat only room. In this private boarding area, kitties can move through our connected cat condos to satisfy their curiosity or just to find a cozy place for a nap. Either way, they all enjoy the freedom of movement these expandable condos offer. For extra large cats, we provide an open cage for their comfort.

Our kennel staff cares for boarding pets 7 days a week, 365 days a year. Drop-off and pick-up are available Monday – Friday from 7:00 a.m.- 5:45 p.m. and on Saturday from 7:00 a.m – 11:45 a.m, except on holidays. We offer discounts on multiple pets boarding together. All other pet services such as grooming, spaying, neutering, and vaccinations can be taken care of while your pet stays with us.

During peak boarding times, we require a $25 deposit that will go toward the boarding amount. This deposit is refundable if the reservation is cancelled 48 hours prior to the boarding date.

Celebrating 25 Year!!!

April 3rd marks 25 years since I first opened the doors of Hope Animal Clinic in a renovated house with 1 surgery table, 2 exam rooms, and a used x-ray machine given to me by a veterinary friend. The year was 2000. I had a confidence that I was where God wanted me to be; I had a young family and one technician who worked with me; and I had a solid commitment to provide excellent pet care at reasonable prices.   I had a hope for the future.

The future became more than my “hope” imagined. Through the years, God has brought exceptional veterinarians, managers, technicians, receptionists, kennel workers, and groomers. Today, we have a team of six incredible veterinarians and approximately 80 dedicated employees who make Hope Animal Clinic what it is all while working in a modern hospital with advanced technology.  I could not have imagined how Hope would grow.

I also could not have imagined the thousands of people that I and my staff would have the privilege of knowing and serving.  Some of you have become like family; many of you have become friends; all of you are appreciated. So let me say this—whether you’ve been with us since the “old house” or just joined our Hope family—thank you for trusting us with your pets. Your support has made this journey possible, and I couldn’t be more grateful.

I am also grateful for our dedicated staff now and throughout the years.  Hope could not provide compassionate, excellent care without them.  Thank you, staff, for making Hope a trusted place for pet care through your skilled attention and dedication to every pet’s well being and every client’s needs.  You are the best!

Foremost, I thank God for His faithfulness and give Him glory. I am fully convinced that God has a plan for all of us—each person—and that my work through Hope Animal Clinic is God’s plan and calling for my life.  Preventing diseases through wellness programs, healing diseases through diagnosis and treatment, restoring function of essential organs and limbs through surgery, relieving suffering, and saving pets’ lives through medical treatment—vet medicine is a high calling.  But the greater calling is to share the gospel and to shine God’s light to those He brings through our doors.  I hope to practice many more years and to be faithful to my callings to the end.

I’d love to hear your favorite memories or see pictures of your pets who have been part of our journey, so please post these on our social media page.   Here’s to 25 years of care, compassion, and community—and many more years to come, Lord willing!
